Clutch Bags Review: The Coin Bag

Good Morning New York City!

Good Morning New York City!

Ever had those days when you’re forced to wake up insanely early, before the sun has even risen? Maybe you have an early class?  Or a badly scheduled meeting. Whatever it is, you curse the reason as you drag yourself out of your sweet slumber to get ready for the day.

In the morning hours leading up to whatever has made you wake up so early, coffee has never tasted so strong and the sun has never shone as obnoxiously bright. As you stumble out of your apartment, squinting at the morning’s brightness, you see one of them trot passed you. A morning walker.

“Good morning!” She says, smiling. You attempt to muster up a kind greeting but all you can do is smile bumpily and grunt.

What the heck is she doing up so early? Why is she so happy? And I want her legs. I don’t know about you, but these are my usual thoughts during groggy, morning interactions with walkers. Well, at least these were my thoughts three weeks ago.  Continue reading

Clutch Bags Full Spring Ahead

Screen Shot 2013-03-25 at 4.34.14 PM

It’s official, Spring has sprung! Though the degrees haven’t been too high and we haven’t been feeling the Spring sultriness, New York has experienced other noticeable differences. The arrival of the vernal equinox has brought a wave of freshness in styles and sources of inspiration.

Screen Shot 2013-03-25 at 3.15.12 PMEven though the night might be chilly, the majestic mornings are always something to look forward to. With the sun shining brightly through unclouded blue skies, waking up has never been so easy. Though New York is the city that doesn’t sleep, it does need it’s revitalization–and it seems like that’s exactly what came with the arrival of Spring. The streets of New York have been decorated with pops of color in the form of accessories, like chunky scarves, handbags, and hats. There has also been a subtle shift in footwear. People have kicked off their snow boots and tall boots, and whipped out their booties and sabrinas!

OSpring-Bike-Riderf the many side effects brought by the changing of seasons, Clutch NY’s favorite side effect is the transitioning of wardrobes. Continue reading

A day to remember at Clutch Bags New York

911 Tragedy remembered in Downtown Manhattan

I was in awe looking up at this light display erected near the site of the fallen towers. It brought me back to the day I witnessed the events first hand while working on set in downtown New York where I live. It was a somber day for us yesterday as we remember the many friends we lost on that tragic day. All of us who still live here in downtown have been impressed with the resilience of our fellow New Yorkers and particularly impressed with the reconstruction of our beloved neighborhood. It reminds me of the strength and fortitude of the American worker as I see what has been rebuilt on the former site of the fallen towers. I decided to start my handbag manufacturing company in the wake of this tragedy in 2001, determined that my handbags designs would always be manufactured here in New York City. I have succeeded in keeping that promised to myself even in the wake of a wave of cheap handbag manufacturing overseas. I still believe that Americans, given an informed choice of quality over cheap goods that don’t last, will choose made in America. My Clutch Bags and Leather purses are warrantied for life and I thank all our clients for their support in purchasing high quality handbags made by hand here in New York City. Made in USA is important to me. God Bless America and all those that support her.

Kisses,

White Bright Designer Hand Bags : Clutch Bags says “Keep It Light”

White is not just a color. It’s an attitude.  Take a look, open your eyes.  White is making its appearance in the form of hip and cool.  Yeh!  The color white has finally arrived!  It has taken quite a few years in the fashion journey for white to creep  down to this level;  the no frills street level that is.  Sure, white is nice.  It is pure. It is sweet. It is bridal, first communion,  innocence, purity  and cleanliness.  It is also bright, fresh, and blinding.  It is so very  healing and germ free.  Let’s face it,  it is the king of all neutrals. Houndstooth at New York Fashion Week

This past week gave us a tremendous peek into what’s coming for Fashion and overall Style in the months ahead. One fun observation is the photo montage below captured by none other than Alex Thompson, our man on the street. Could this first shot be none other than, oh you guess.

Not sure if the houndstooth is here to stay but Continue reading

Forgive me but I love Fur in Winter

I love fur in the winter

Laura Dotolo

As I was walking across town this afternoon, with the wind at my face, the sun setting and the temperature plummeting down, all I could do to stay warm was to dig deep in my pockets and be thankful I had my vintage mink fur hat and trimmed coat.  I do feel thankful we’re not Continue reading
