Clutch Bags Review: The Coin Bag

Good Morning New York City!

Ever had those days when you’re forced to wake up insanely early, before the sun has even risen? Maybe you have an early class? Â Or a badly scheduled meeting. Whatever it is, you curse the reason as you drag yourself out of your sweet slumber to get ready for the day.

In the morning hours leading up to whatever has made you wake up so early, coffee has never tasted so strong and the sun has never shone as obnoxiously bright. As you stumble out of your apartment, squinting at the morning’s brightness, you see one of them trot passed you. A morning walker.

“Good morning!” She says, smiling. You attempt to muster up a kind greeting but all you can do is smile bumpily and grunt.

What the heck is she doing up so early? Why is she so happy? And I want her legs. I don’t know about you, but these are my usual thoughts during groggy, morning interactions with walkers. Well, at least these were my thoughts three weeks ago.Â Continue reading →

As a young woman alive on this planet during the election and leadership of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, I have been personally influenced by her role as a powerful political female figurehead.Â It has been her undeniable strength as a woman that has effected me most.Â A woman who commanded the respect of a leader, consistently possessed the dignity and prowess of a lady.Â The positive female role that Margaret Thatcher exuded during her lifetime will forever be ingrained in the navigational skills of leadership that I use to build Clutch Bags NY into a strong Made in USA brand of handbags that I believe in.Â Mrs. Thatcher taught me to stand firm for what you believe in, and set a path that is your own.

Pink and green lives!! Thank you Lilly Pulitzer!!

There are so few mentors we have in our lives, so the passing of one stirs your soul.Â Sometimes it is a heartfelt loss that brings you back to childhood memories.

I awoke this morning to an announcement that Lilly Pulitzer passed away during the night.Â My first thoughts were of her fabulous use of green and pink.Â My childhood memories of women by the summer shore sporting their full Lilly regalia of cotton print dresses and accessories to match dance in my head like an explosion of pixie sticks blowing in the wind.Â Lilly produced patterns on fabrics that served up eye candy on the sidewalks of the New England seashore towns that will forever inspire my creative sensibility.Â Â I will forever be inspired by the palette of Lilly Pulitzer.Â Thank you, Lilly, for your creative influence on my handbag designs.
