As mentioned before, Laura Dotolo‘s Clutch Bags NY is one of these companies. A day in the life of the designer consists of waking up in Battery Park City and heading to New York City’s trusted Garment District. Laura starts off on 28th street, where she checks out the hardware store for buckles and accents. Once she’s found what she needs there, she heads over to the leather vendor. Here she samples a number of different, soft, great quality leathers for her collection. After the leather vendor, she goes to the fabric store, just a few blocks away. After the fabric store, it is to the zipper supplier, and then to the factory. The beauty of this process is that it doesn’t have Laura running around the city, all of these locations are a mere 10 blocks of each other.

As a supporter of the Made in USA Movement, it’s almost magical to see how the country is slowly coming together to create a better America. It’s beautiful to see people step outside of themselves and commit to a cause that had the main purpose of building up society. This shift in values and this centering on America is what is going to bring the American people together and make this nation stronger.
