Summertime in NYC
It’s official: Summer is finally in bloom! But the temperature isn’t the only thing that’s up! For the passed week and a half I have found myself running around, all over NYC. Though my errands take me to different parts of the city, at different times of day, I have been noticing some consistent trends.
The  most consistent trend I have noticed is the use of the Scout Bag from Clutch Bags. I have seen this spacious satchel on the shoulders of women uptown, downtown, east and west. Because this handbag seemed so popular on the streets of NYC, I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. So I decided to bring my Clutch Bags NY leather satchel along with me on one of my day of errands. I packed it with the usual suspects: IPod, keys, phone, and wallet. And I was off.
Handbag trends in NYC
My first stop was Paper Presentation all the way downtown. It was on my way to the F train that I realized the benefits of this handy handbag. I decided to wear a light sweater out because NYC’s public transportation is equipped with the strongest ACs known to man. But on my way to the subway, my light sweater started to feel like an extra layer of skin. Without a thought, I peeled off my sweaty sweater and stuffed in my purse. And I suddenly understood the allure of this satchel! When I go out, I usually use a small shoulder bag so I don’t weigh myself down with unnecessary items but often my small bags have a lack of necessary space. Definitely not an issue with the Scout Bag! When I eventually hopped on the train and felt the chill of the AC, I just pulled my sweater out of my bag, feeling like a champ. Another consistent trend that I have seen is the evening use of the clutch. For a while I noticed that women were loving the classic chained clutch for nights out, but now it seems like they are saying goodbye to the chain!
