New York Street Style #6

New york City street style

              New York City Street Style

New York Street Style has to be one of the most sought after styles of  fashion  in the world.  And yet, no one even thinks of NYC in these “branding” terms.  As a New York City Stylist for 20 years and a handbag designer for 15 years, I can decisively say that the fashion street inspiration you see in NYC  is definitely a sought after style of fashion around the globe.

I have always stated that I have found the inspirations for the designs of the Clutch Bags NY handbag collection on the streets of New York City.
I have never doubted this inspirational flow for one minute.  I think it could be attributed to the shear amount of people that live and roam the city here on a daily basis.  That, and also, there is a certain sense of adventure that exists in the water and the air of New York City.  It is an adventurous vibe that inspires you every now and again (and sometimes more often than not) to just go balls out and try wearing the look out in public.  Hey, why not? These are the motivational inspirations that live inside our heads when you live in NYC; it is the inner voices that  tell you to be adventuresome and to change it up.  These are the voices that say “just because no one else is doing it doesn’t mean you can’t. It means that there is more of a clear public runway for you to test  it out”.

I truly believe that the main reason a New Yorker feels inspired to live outside the box is because there are no boundaries in New York City when it comes to testing the temperature of the water, so to speak.  A more simple way to say this is that no one will critique you for trying something new, for wearing something different, for stating your opinion.  New Yorkers are tolerant, for the most part.  And so is their tolerance for fashion and for trends.

I love New York City and I love that Clutch Bags NY is a part of the New York City Style that exists within its avenues and boroughs.  After all, this is the place where all my inspiration is found to design cool leather handbags and purses.

Part #6: New York Street Style

New York City Style pictured  above is one of many innovative looks that was hitting the streets during Fashion Week. I love this look!  And why? It has to be the turban like hat and the beaded coat, and also the gray and pink color combination.  The color combination reminds me so much of Clutch NY colors.  This woman has feminine mystique  galore!  Lets start at the top and work our way down.  The hair, you just have to love the hair.  The blond long waves just flowing from under that great turban style hat is great.   This hair style is soft, sexy and very womanly.  The gray hat turban adds so much to this look. It gives her tailored look a bit of exotic whimsy.  The same could be said of her men’s tailored gray coat.  It is very classic in silhouette, yet with the beads and fringe, it really becomes a coat of its own, and again a bit of the exotic.  Her necklace is a great accessory, and serves a great purpose to this look.  I never would have chosen a chain link piece, but again, it takes this look so nicely “out of bounds” that you just have to love the combination of accessories.   Her choice of a gray cashmere crew neck is elegant.  It gives her look a comfortably tailored flow.  The pink trousers are of course the star here.  How often do you see pink trousers on the street and in the winter months? And what does one even begin to pair up with pink trousers?  Well, I have to compliment her on how great the whole outfit compliments the pink trousers.  Of course the shoe choice of the gray suede ankle boot with a sexy heel is perfect.  It gives the outfit a nice long lean , feminine edge. This woman has on a very tailored exotic look and she definitely possesses her own personal style.   The Clutch NY Team would suggest the silver Lunch Bag from Clutch NY, as our handbag of choice for this outfit.  This would be a leather handbag that would be easy to carry, like the clutch she is already carrying, and work with her exotic style that she has going on.  The silver leather clutch would flow with her sort of monochromatic color of gray that she is sporting. She knows how to put her exotic tailored look together and really carry it off!   We should all take a lesson from this week’s New York Street Style #6.  Don’t be afraid to wear a loud pair of trousers and chill them out with a mellow monochromatic look that gives you style. Remember, style is not purchased, it comes from inside of you! New York Street Style is born again!

Enjoy your week!  Get out on the Street!
