Clutch Bags Review: The Feed Bag

Screen shot 2013-07-07 at 9.57.12 PM“Hi, Nandhi, I’ve got a package here for you,” my doorman, Frank, told me as I walked into the lobby of my apartment building. This was weird, I wasn’t expecting anything. I hadn’t done online shopping for about a month and my friends just aren’t the type to mail me presents.

I raised an eyebrow as I asked Frank who it was from.

“Well, it says it’s from a Miss Laura Dotolo?”

Suddenly I relaxed. I had forgotten that Laura from Clutch Bags NY said she would send me the Feed Bag to test out. Silly me!

As soon as I took the bag out of its wrapping, I fell in love. I liked the visual contrast of the bag’s canvas, leather, and suede elements. I liked that I could feel the high quality of these fabrics from the touch of my fingertips. And I really liked the color: black. It would go with everything!

My first experience with the Clutch NY Feed Bag was on Tuesday.

Recently I signed up for a French class. I have lessons every other day for about three hours. I also have a lot of books for this class: three textbooks; one large, one medium, one small; and  one notebook of average proportions. Before getting the Feed Bag, I used my Longchamp purse. Although it could fit everything I needed for class, I found that it didn’t have enough pockets for all of my little knickknacks. Also, the thin straps of the bag bruised my shoulder because of the weight of all of my books. However, with the Feed Bag, I didn’t have either of these problems. The Feed Bag has two leather pockets: one for your cell phone and/or IPod, and another for your pens, wallet, and other small, essential items. The bag is fashioned with one wide strap that fits comfortably on the shoulder and holds the bag’s weight very well!

When I got to class that day, I had everything I needed and my shoulder didn’t hurt!

Black_lgA few days later, I found myself turning to the Feed Bag’s aide yet again. This time I was going to be running a number of errands that would take me downtown, then to Brooklyn, to midtown, uptown, and then back downtown in a matter of four hours. I knew that this Clutch bag would give me the comfort and space I would need to accomplish the day’s tasks.

My first stop was on Broadway at the Impossible Project. I needed to buy some film for my polaroid camera, which I unexpectedly had in my bag because of impromptu rain fall. Although I thought I had filled the hobo bag as much as I could, I was impressed that it still had room for my boxy camera. I then made my way to Brooklyn for a meeting with Laura. Though my bag was full, it didn’t bother me at all on the subway. It hung still at my side.

Thanks to the Feed Bag, the rest of my errands ran smoothly without a hitch!

The Clutchbags.com Feed Bag is definitely a Summer (and all-time) must have! It’s a great bag to have on your shoulder for long days, short days, and everything in between. It’s a bag that is made for woman on the go. Give the Feed Bag a chance! You won’t be sorry!
